The Garden resort in Tisno is conveniently located halfway between the cities of Zadar (45mins) and Split (60 mins), which are both served by international airports. Low-cost airlines such as Croatia Airlines, British Airways, Eurowings, EasyJet, Monarch, Jet 2 and Ryanair fly in from over 50 destinations across Europe. Full airport transfers will also be available. Check to find your most appropriate flight from multiple carriers.


Lots of you will now want to book your flights as Croatia Airlines, British Airways, Eurowings, Easyjet, Jet 2 and Monarch (from all over Europe) are at ideal prices for the festival dates to both Zadar and Split airports. Also, Ryanair have a couple of new flight routes (all direct to Zadar) from Manchester, Dublin (IRE), Dusseldorf/Frankfurt/ (Germany) – Paris, Marseille (France) – Billund (Denmark) – Brussels(Belgium) – Oslo and Haugesund (Norway) – Stockholm and Gothenburg (Sweden). Airport Transfers

We recommend that you book an organised airport coach transfer through Shuttle Tours, who will bring you from Zadar or Split airport with lots of other festival revellers direct to Tisno. Their website is

Alternatively you can make your own way to fit in with your travel plans. There are airport buses from all airports to the main centre bus terminals, and from all cities you will find regular buses to Zadar or Sibenik. Once at Zadar / Sibenik main bus terminal take a local bus to Tisno.

Croatia is home to some incredible cuisine with speciality Dalmatian seafood and steak dishes plentiful across both the Festival site itself and in the town of Tisno.

On the site itself there is a restaurant as well as various different food outlets, so you won’t have to go far to find something delicious to satisfy your appetite.


From cracking open that first beer of the day, to getting the party started with one of the many cocktails available on-site, a plethora of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available from the many bars at Defected Croatia. Sipping in the sun has never been this fun…

The main festival site boasts 80 air-conditioned apartments, all of which come with their own private balconies or terraces. With all the apartments located only a short stroll from both the main and beach stages, these are perfect for those coming with a group of friends who want to stay as close to the festival action as possible. The onsite apartments all have air conditioning, a small kitchen and a bathroom with shower and WC. Towels are provided for the bathroom but please bring your own beach towels.

Also available on-site are five original and refurbished Airstreams. Inside you’ll find abundant storage, elegant design, private sleeping quarters, and spacious living areas, with each trailer sleeping up to five people in comfort. They have their own capsule shower and WC and are air conditioned. For those seeking the ultimate in chic, luxurious accommodation, three stunning wooden yachts – moored up in the festival bay – are available to hire. Each yacht sleeps up to eight people, giving you the option to lounge on deck and enjoy the music from the beach stage, pop back and forth to the site whenever you like and even take a trip around the nearby Kornati islands. Offering first-rate luxury camping, Camp Shikar is a beautiful area comprising just 10 authentic Shikar tents direct from Jodhpur. Each Shikar is incredibly spacious with a floor area of 40sqm and loads of ceiling height for the tallest of people to stand up in comfortably. Crafted from a cotton canvas exterior with individually handprinted, unique interiors, each Shikar can comfortably sleep 4 people and the space can be easily adapted depending on the number of people. They have an open porch living area with table and chairs under the veranda canopy, and come fully furnished with 4 single beds (bed-linen provided), bed side tables with electric lights, dressing table with large mirror, electric fans, separate dressing room area for clothes and suitcase storage. Camping Pods

Podpads are small but perfectly formed lockable wooden structures with a solid floor and solid raised beds, supplied with inflated air mattresses and fitted sheets for an incredibly comfortable Defected Croatia experience. The podpad comes carpeted with a shelf, mirror, 3 windows for ventilation, and a solid front door with Yale lock providing security. Solar powered LED lighting and 12v car dashboard sockets are fitted inside, providing mobile phone and iPod charging.

DIY Camping

For those of you who want to go back to festival basics, DIY camping in the serene surroundings of The Garden’s olive & fig tree groves is a great option. There are proper toilets for campers and hot showers, with a separate block for girls and boys. Getting this close to nature during your stay is an incredibly rewarding way to experience Defected Croatia – there are few better feelings than waking up in the morning and having a refreshing swim in our private bay followed by fresh coffee and breakfast at Trattoria Magnolia onsite. Basically, forget trains! The buses are altogether quicker, cheaper and connect all cities with a regular service. You can buy tickets on board the bus, but you should get a receipt. Longer journeys have service stops included in the travel time.

Recreational drugs are as illegal in Croatia as they are in most places around the world and their use will be looked upon very seriously by the Croatian Police.

There is an ATM machine on the festival site, in the main reception area of the apartments. In addition there are 8 other ATMs in the centre of Tisno, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from The Garden Tisno.

Metered taxis can be found at the entrance to the festival site in the main car park.
